Great General Information on Wine: - Wine Spectator On-line offers a database of 15,000 wine-tasting notes and reviews for free, as well as various articles from their print edition . . . the largest circulation magazine about wine.
- Smart Wine is a relatively new on-line wine publication, offering reviews and good general articles about wine.
- Robin Garr's Wine Lover's Page is a great resource for 'affordable' wines. Robin tastes an eclectic assortment of wines from around the world. BONUS: wine-tasting notes form hundreds of individual wine enthusiast.

Regional Wine Information: - Australia - a comprehensive guide to the wines and wineries of 'down under.'
- Austria - these wines are not often seen in the US. A great primer to ready you for your Austrian wine-tasting holiday.
- Bordeaux - a good introduction to this most famous of wine regions; tour in pictures, wineries, vintage chart, and everything else you need to know if you plan to visit.
- California - Napa - a very comprehensive guide to the most famous California wine region, including maps, visitor information and links to many individual winery sites.
- California - Sonoma - just across the hills from Napa, another excellent region site has lots of information on local wineries.
- Germany - not as comprehensive as some regional sites, but the best we've found to introduce German wines and wine regions.
- Italy - great detail on the regions and vines of Italy, plus food and culture.
- Oregon - has emerged as a leading producer of Pinot Noir, as well as many other fine varieties. This is a very comprehensive listing of wineries, regions, etc.
- Spain - is the biggest wine producer in Europe. This site provides a detailed overview.
- South Africa - has been producing interesting wines that only recently have come on the US market. This site is a good start to explore S.A. Wines.
- Washington - another up and coming wine growing region. Good listing of wineries and tourist information.
Wine and Food: - Epicurious is the on-line archive of recipes and articles from Bon Apetit and Gourmet magazines. Many articles deal with matching wine and food, and the recipe database is wonderful.
